Welcome to STEM Agronomy: Cropnuts and DRIS PDFs into a per-block report

Most agronomy consultancies spend a meaningful chunk of every season turning lab PDFs into spreadsheets, then turning spreadsheets into client-facing recommendations. Cropnuts soil panels and DRIS sap or tissue analyses come back as scanned reports, the values get rekeyed by hand, and the limiting-factor analysis happens block by block in someone's head before it gets typed back out as a deliverable.

STEM Agronomy automates the rekey and the first-pass interpretation. You upload the lab PDFs, we extract the per-block measurements, rank the limiting factors, and draft cited recommendations you can edit and ship. Your first report is free during beta.

Why this is hard to do by hand

A multi-block farm with both a soil panel and a DRIS run produces dozens of pages of dense lab output. Most of the time-sink is not the interpretation, it is the lookup: which block is this column, what was the K reading, where is the pH versus the EC, and which one is actually the limiting factor this season. The interpretation work is faster once the numbers are clean and structured.

Manual rekey is also expensive. At a consultant's billing rate, a multi-block panel is several hours of typing that the client will see itemized but does not value as expert time. The expert work is the recommendation, not the data entry.

How STEM Agronomy generates the report

The pipeline runs in five stages. First, Azure Document Intelligence parses the scanned PDFs page by page and identifies the lab report layout. Second, the agronomy extractor pulls per-block measurements (macros, micros, pH, EC, tissue values) into a structured schema. Third, the system ranks limiting factors per block using the values it just extracted. Fourth, the recommendation drafter writes block-specific recommendations with source-page citations. Fifth, the dashboard and PDF report are assembled and emailed back to you.

Every measurement and every recommendation links back to the source page so consultants can verify a value at a glance. The output is a per-block dashboard you can review in the browser and a PDF report you can drop straight into your client deliverable.

What you get back

You get two things in your dashboard when a run completes: an interactive per-block view and a downloadable PDF report. The per-block view shows macros, micros, pH and EC, and tissue results for each block side by side, with limiting factors ranked top to bottom. The PDF mirrors the dashboard structure with cited recommendations the consultant can edit before sending.

The recommendation drafts are starting points, not final advice. STEM Agronomy ranks limiting factors and proposes block-level interventions, but the consultant signs off, edits, and owns the final recommendation. We treat the system as a junior analyst that handles the heavy reading.

Who it is for

STEM Agronomy is built for agronomy consultancies, farm advisors, cooperatives, and growers who turn Cropnuts and DRIS lab reports into recommendations on a recurring basis. If you currently rekey lab values into a spreadsheet before doing the interpretation, this is the part of the workflow we are removing.

Single-farm growers with one or two blocks see a smaller win. The leverage is on multi-block farms, cooperative trial reporting, and consultancies that handle dozens of farms a month, where the rekey time stacks up across clients.

Private deployment for sensitive data

For consultancies handling sensitive farm data, or that need an isolated environment for compliance or audit reasons, we offer Private Deployment. Under Private Deployment, the STEM Agronomy software runs inside your own cloud environment, and your team owns the agreements with the cloud and AI providers you choose.
